I went to visit my friend in Arizona last weekend. On my return trip Monday morning, my bag is flagged and has to be gone through. I hate this. I cringe as the TSA lady riffles through my personal belongings, especially my underwear. It's upsetting to see a perfectly careful packing job disrupted by such callous hands. When she opens my cosmetic bag, she takes out my deodorant and tells me I should have put it in my Ziploc bag with the rest of my liquids just so they can make sure it is not a liquid. Is this a new rule? I thought we only have to put what meager liquid items we are allotted in that little Ziploc bag. Now we have to include non-liquid items so they can make sure they aren't liquid? Then the TSA lady tells me it's okay this time. So what, if I don't put my deodorant in the liquid baggie next time your going to confiscate it? Call over security and arrest me? What? Has anyone ever been punished for not putting their liquid items in the baggie? That would be interesting to know.
I'm leaving this evening to go to LA for a few days. I did not put my deodorant in my liquids bag. Let's see what happens. Even if they look through my bag and find it though, they won't know I've broken the so called rules before, right? Anyway, I'm real excited to be going today. I like flying and the whole airport experience. The most interesting things on a trip will most likely happen in the airport or on the plane, so I'm sure I'll have at least one good story by the time my trip comes to it's close. Don't hold your breath though. I've been lax when it comes to my blog lately, but I'll try to do better for anyone who still reads this. Dad, that's you. Well, have a great weekend!

They went through my bag because I had cream cheese in there. They said it counted as a liquid. (?) Also the cream cheese was too big so they just took it away from me. So I went on a 7 hour flight with 6 bagels and no cream cheese.
When I came back from break, they rifled through my crap because of the spices I brought with me...too many suspicious powders. *eye roll
I still read your blog! :) Have a great trip!!
Yes Megan, they have a file on you now.
Megan and Melissa, those are funny stories! My crazy grandma has always told our family to pack their underwear (namely the special white kind) in ziploc baggies inside of your suitcase to avoid grubby hands rifling through them. So, yes, maybe everything should be in a baggie.
