And the winner is . . .

I decided to get Danny a charging station for Christmas. I'm getting him this one from Potterybarn rather than the one form Sharper Image. This one is only $79 and the other one is $130. I'm going to get him a black one that will match his desk. I really hope he doesn't decide to start reading my blog (highly unlikely, but you never know!) because he'll know exactly what he's getting and how much I paid for it! Although, if he really wanted to know how much I paid for it, he could just look it up on potterybarn.com.

I'm going to wait to order this until after we've gone to Chicago though because I might find something else. I'm going to Chicago on the 14th of December with my mom, Melissa, Emily and Kate. Emily has a residency interview and we are going to "Wicked" while we're there. It should be fun but I think we have the mid-30's, temperature wise, to look forward to. Also, I'm not going to post any pictures of Thanksgiving because my dad was taking pictures of us eating and no one ever looks good when they're stuffing their faces full of food!

I need some help

Last night My dad, Briton & Melissa, Kate, Danny and I went to my cousin, Molly's wedding. My mom stayed home to babysit. While we were there we stated talking about my blog and I was saying that the one person I could write anything about and that person would never know was Danny because he never looks at my blog. That's a good thing because the picture to the left is him and he would probably be angry if he knew I had posted a picture of him. Too bad!

Every year for Christmas my siblings and I get a name of another sibling and we buy just that one sibling a gift. No one ever wants to get Danny because he is the hardest one to buy for. We never know what the heck to get him. Well, as you may have guessed, I have Danny this year and I'm totally stumped. I've thought about it a bit and here are a few of my ideas:

The complete series of Seinfeld, about $180 at Costco

Leather charging station, $129.95 at Sharper Image

Bose, around-ear headphones, $139.95 at Sharper Image

American Express gift card, I would put $100 on it

So, although I've thought about it, I would love to have some more ideas. I will tell a bit about him: He's in his fourth year of medical school, so he's flying all over for interviews for residencies, he likes computer and video game stuff, he's 27, and he likes to read. I don't know what else to say about him. I typically only spend about $100 on these sibling gifts but I wouldn't mind going a little over if it means I have a gift to give him when Christmas comes!

Baby Shower

Last Saturday we had a baby shower at my house for my cousin, Melissa Stringham. She is having a girl and is due on January 1st. She's the one in the middle of the second row from the bottom in the picture on the left. She's a year older than me but was always my friend when we came to Utah to visit my mom's side of the family.

At the shower we took some pictures, watched Melissa open her presents (which included some darling bedding for the crib from Pottery Barn Kids that was purple and blue to match the black crib she has), had some good food and then scrap booked the pictures we took earlier and put the pages in a book for Melissa to take home. Anyways, I'm so happy for her and her husband. Congratulations Melissa and Jack! Oh, and they're naming the baby Hannah. Love it.

Here's a picture of Cole with his hair gelled.

Here's my mom, me, Caroline and Kate.

This one's for Tara

I'm doing this so that Tara will feel guilty that she didn't do it when I tagged her! For this tag I just have to write seven things about myself. These things can be random, funny or whatever.
  1. I generally don't like tomatoes unless they are on a sandwich, pizza or in pasta. I also hate most tomato based soups, like chili, but enjoy cream of tomato soup and marinara sauce. I also like pico de gallo on my Cafe Rio salad. Basically, I have an odd relationship with tomatoes.
  2. I'm 23 and I still get big, fat zits on my face. Sorry, that was a gross one!
  3. Jerry kind of smelled last night so I didn't let him curl up next to me like he usually does but made him sleep on the other side of the bed. When I woke up this morning, however, he was curled up in the crook of my neck. By the way, Jerry is my dog. There's a picture of him over on the right column. He's so cute!
  4. Whenever I go into the bookstore I always buy at least one book. As a consequence, I have a huge pile of books that I need to read but I buy them faster than I can read so the pile is always getting bigger.
  5. I just bought some sheets at Target that are 1,000 thread count and now I want to stay in bed all day. They are heavenly and highly recommended if you want to overindulge yourself.
  6. I take more baths than showers. I think it's because I like to read in the bath. All my siblings make fun of me and say I'm bathing in my own filth, but I don't care.
  7. I'm going to vote today after work and I still haven't decided if I should vote for or against referendum 1. I've heard good arguments for both sides. I'll just have to think about it on the drive home.
