A free t-shirt a month

One of my favorite things about working at Fluid Studio are the free t-shirts. These aren't just any t-shirts though. Every month we assign a different designer to design the t-shirt for that month. My month was April (tomorrow is June! SUMMER!!!) and I thought I'd share it with you guys. We haven't gotten them yet so I don't know if they turned out exactly like this, but this is what they should look like. We'll probably get them next week sometime. I'm excited.

Command z is my best friend

The other night I decided to paint my toenails. So I picked out a dark red color and sat up on my bathroom counter. I made the first stroke on my right big toe. It wasn't that bad of a stroke, but some paint got on my skin. My first thought was "command z" (or "control z" for the PC users) until I realized that I wasn't on my computer and I couldn't undo the stroke I had just made on my toe. I use "command z" all day at work, which is probably why I thought I could just undo something in real life. Sadly, that can't be done.

I had the thought, however, that it would be really nice if we could have a "command z" for real life. If you dripped mustard on your shirt, you could command z it and it would be gone. Of course you would have to take that same bite of your sandwich again but this time you would be wary of the mustard! Think how nice this feature would be for our conversations. If you said something stupid or regrettable you could just undo it. And it would be great for all those stupid little things like tripping and falling, cutting yourself when shaving, making a wrong turn on the road, or eating something we really wished we rather hadn't.

Realistically, this would never be possible (until someone invents time travel!) and I guess that's where the beauty of it comes in. I'll try not to wax poetic but if we didn't make mistakes would we ever learn? Probably not. We definitely wouldn't know how to get a mustard stain our of our shirt. We would never have to apologize to someone for saying something hurtful and we would never know how being forgiven felt. And of course without pain, we would never experience pleasure, joy or happiness.

I guess it's a good thing that "command z" is limited to computer use only. I will (and do) take full advantage of it in the computer realm! Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

I wanna be a blogger too!

I know, my subtitle for my blog is pretty lame! It's meant to be sarcastic though. Anyways, I wanted to get in on the blogging scene. I guess I should talk a little bit about what I'm doing right now. I live at home with my parent and two sisters. I work at a design firm in Bountiful called Fluid Studio. You should visit our website: www.fluid-studio.net. It's awesome and I enjoy my job. Other than working, I watch movies a lot and read even more.

I just read The Road by Cormac McCarthy. It's a quick read and I would recommend it. If you can get past the more gruesome parts in the book, it is a sweet story about a father and his son in dire circumstances and the love they share and their will to survive. I won't give too much away, but there were many times during the book that I wondered why they didn't just give up and die. What was the point of living? It's hard to imagine what a post-apocalyptic world would be like. McCarthy does an excellent job of conveying the chaos, horror and depravity that would exist.

Enough about books! On to movies. I saw and was thoroughly disappointed in Spiderman 3. The first two were much better. Shrek the Third comes out this Friday and I'm excited for that. The other movies that are coming out this summer that are third in the series include: Ocean's 13, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, and The Bourne Ultimatum. I think that's it. It should be a great summer for movies.

Well, this concludes my first posting. I hope you have enjoyed it! I will post some pictures soon.
